The figurine is based on a drawing by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel that is believed to be a self-portrait -- Hummele was the artist's childhood nickname. This unusual figurine depicts an enchanting child dressed as a bee, the dainty wings almost luminous, the child's face a reflection of sweet innocence. This historic piece was offered only to M.I. Hummel Club members in 1999, Now it's paired with a rich, honey-colored Beehive Box of gold-trimmed porcelain. The treasures sit side-by-side on a grassy ceramic base.
